Job Purpose
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of equipment preventative maintenance, repair, safety, continuous improvement, and special projects. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to assist with equipment capability, workplace safety, and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.
Follow all Company safety policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical & electrical equipment as required including controls, drives and PLCs.
Assist team members to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Assist Engineering team with special projects like equipment builds, continuous improvement efforts, and/or equipment/tooling modifications, as needed.
Keep maintenance storeroom organized/clean and communicate when parts need to be replenished.
Make recommendations for service requests and/or additional parts and tool purchases.
Utilize preventative maintenance and facilities software to track, schedule, create, and complete weekly work orders and PMs.
Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware.
Develop, analyze, and test programs (PLCs) for industrial equipment.
Assemble, repair or rework pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, fixtures, templates, and scopes.
Participate with new equipment installs and planning.
Update drawings and diagrams as required.
Demonstrates competency in lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, and arc-flash which meet requirements of EHS, OSHA, NEC, NFPA and company standards.
All other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Participate in continued learning opportunities as it relates to your field.
Assist Engineering team with special projects like equipment builds, continuous improvement efforts, and/or equipment/tooling modifications, as needed.
Consult with Manager on projects and needs for production equipment, as needed.
Participate in weekly team meetings; provide input on to-do’s and issues and follow up on quarterly rock milestone updates.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Minimum Two (2) year associate degree or vocational education, equivalent, and/or actively in progress.
Two (2) years equipment or maintenance support experience preferred.
Two (2) years of PLC experience preferred.
Completion of OSHA 10 and OSHA 30.
Valid forklift certification.
Specific Skills, Licensure and Certifications
Ability to communicate with co-workers and utilize every means necessary to keep equipment and machines operating in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to follow directions and read layout plans, schematics, blueprints, and other drawings.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to issues.
Knowledge of practical equipment engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Basic computer skills: MS Office, Internet, email, ability to utilize industrial software and integrate it with machinery.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Highly motivated problem solver.
Ability and flexibility to work 8–10-hour shifts, including weekends as required.
Ability and flexibility to work overtime as required, including “on call” responsibilities.
Willingness to work reasonable weekly or daily overtime as required.
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee may occasionally perform work related travel.
The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud dependent upon the machinery you are exposed to. In such cases wearing of PPE is mandatory.
