JOB PURPOSE
As a Production Supervisor, you will be part of holding production staff accountable to Roastar’s safety, quality, and performance goals. You will demonstrate leadership qualities that promote a safe work environment, open & honest communication, and effective continuous improvement practices. You will collaborate with teams to problem solve and communicate best practices, policies & procedures with staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follow all Company safety policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Follow all Company policies, rules, and regulations.
Act as a professional representative of Roastar, Inc. at all times.

Supervise direct staff to ensure safety, quality, performance, and delivery requirements are met.
Set expectations for performance and conduct by communicating goals, policies, and procedures to all employees. Motivate employees to do their best work.
Personnel responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Evaluating team morale through open communication and check-ins with staff
Evaluating the performance of employees and delivery employee evaluations
Recommending salary adjustments, promotions, transfers & holding employees accountable using guidelines set by employee handbook
Verifying employee timecards, scheduling overtime as needed, & scheduling vacations
Monitoring absenteeism and tardiness, and approving requests for time off
Recommending staff adjustments as needed
Complying with applicable federal and state laws
Implementing suggestion, disciplinary and problem review procedures
Troubleshooting and guiding employees on mechanical, material and technical issues
Understanding, supporting, and enforcing Company safety policies & procedures.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality.
Give recognition for good performance and provide guidance when improvement is needed.
Assist in the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the Company’s standards for safety, quality, equipment, and products.
Keep management informed on general conditions and on matters of importance which could impact safety, culture/morale, quality and/or cost.
Communicate supervisory goals and management policies to respective employees.
Handle informal grievances and assist in the settlement of formal grievances.
Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communication with employees.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Ensure the completion of all required records, paperwork, documents, etc.
Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
Coordinate with other departments to maintain production schedules and collaborate with team when overtime is required.
Inspect products and processes, ensuring quality standards are met in accordance with customer and Company specifications.
In collaboration with the Engineering and Process Improvement teams, create and maintain manufacturing specifications for products and equipment.
Collaborate with Operations Manager to control labor, material, and supply expenses within budgetary constraints.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
1-3 years’ experience in a leadership role with direct reports
Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
Associate degree in Supervision or Management is preferred.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
Proven leadership skills and capabilities.
Specific Skills, Licensure and Certifications
Strong attention to detail, active listening, and communication skills – including written & interpersonal.
Excellent problem-solving skills and solution focused mindset.
Positive attitude and desire to build a productive work environment for staff.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and able to learn Company specific systems.
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with other employees/teams of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee may occasionally perform work related travel.
The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud dependent upon the machinery you are exposed to. In such cases wearing of PPE is mandatory.
